A day trip to Incheon

How many of you planning a visit to South Korea have ever included Incheon on your travel itineraries? It definitely wasn’t on our list when we first travelled to South Korea! However, the city, so close to Seoul, has a complete different atmosphere and is definitely worth exploring! Did you know that it is also the third largest city in South Korea? Check out our top three places to see in Incheon and let us know which one you liked the most!

1. Songdo Central Park. The stunning reflections of the high-rise buildings and the tranquillity of this vast green space is what makes it our favourite. But did you know that Songdo is a newly build ‘green city’ of South Korea? As it aims to be one of the most high-tech cities in the world, it’s buildings consist of various shapes and sizes making it a sight to admire. Even more, once you step into Songdo central park you will soon realise you can easily spend two to three hours walking around, having a coffee at a cafe shop inside the park, renting a bicycle or a boat, or simply enjoying a good book with a stunning scenery in the background!

2. Songwol-dong Fairy tale village. You might say that fairy tales are only for the little ones, but once you step into this unique world of international animations you will soon change your mind. The place has a stunning unity of Asian and Western tales, making the place even more picturesque. Not only it is a haven of pictures and activities for the children, it has some great photo opportunities for the big ones too! It is a great place for adults to relive their childhood as the village seem to have never ending story lanes. Also, did you know that only a few steps away there is a China town worth visiting?

P.S. Did you know that Heiza MV ‘Your name"‘ was filmed there?

3. China town. You might say that you have visited many China towns before, but this is no ordinary one. This China town is over 100 years old, yet managed to keep its authenticity up until today. Even more, in South Korea there is a special dish called jajangmyeon (Chinese black noodles). Not only unique in its’ look (the dish is black as the name says), it is also one of the most delicious dishes we’ve tried in China town (or maybe in the whole Korea too!) Did you know that recently single Koreans started eating jajangmyeon on a Black Day while commiserating with their friends about their loneliness?
